You Too Can Make a Cheeseball

Let's Learn How to Make a Cheese Ball

Making a cheese ball may seem daunting.    I have been there.  You seem to have more cream cheese on your hands than the ball.

Cheese balls whether dessert or appetizer are popular choices for parties.  The display, if done properly is so pretty.  But, I have seen some where you would be better off just serving in a bowl.

So, lets learn how to do it right.

The first think you need to do is to plan ahead.   Don’t plan to throw this together 5 minutes before you leave or are serving.

  1. Plan for at least 2-3 hours.  Making a day ahead is also fine.
  2. Warm the cream cheese in the microwave so it is easy to stir.  Warming at 50% for a minute, should do the trick but do not over warm.  All you want is to make it easy to stir.
  3. Next mix in the packet of product you are using. The picture shown here is for our Cappuccino Cheese Ball Mix, which is a dessert cheese ball.
  4. Make sure you mix thoroughly.  The white of the cream cheese should not be visible.  You can’t over mix.
  5. After thoroughly mixing, place the mixture in the refrigerator for an hour.  This will make the mixture easy to work with.
  6. After completely chilling, remove from the refrigerator and cut a piece of plastic wrap.   Remove mixture with your hands and form into a smooth ball by rolling in your hands.  Once the ball is formed place in the plastic wrap, fully covering the cheese ball and return to the refrigerator.
  7. When you are ready to serve, remove from wrap on to a plate.
  8. If it is a dessert cheese ball, place twisty grahams, fruit slices or what you are  serving with the cheese ball around the outside of the dish.  For appetizer cheese balls you can use crackers, or veggies.
  9. If you are taking the cheese ball to a party, I suggest transporting it in the plastic wrap.

Now. enjoy!
